The season so far…

Derby Under-23s saw their relegation to Premier League 2 – Division 2 confirmed with a 2-1 defeat at Leicester City last month.

Pat Lyons’ side have fought hard against the drop all season but, with several Under-23 players breaking into the first team during the season, it has been difficult to to get results thanks to a young and threadbare team. .

Derby have four wins, three draws and 18 losses in 25 outings this season, taking them to a total of 15 points bottom of the table.

Crystal Palace sit eighth in the table, with 11 wins, three draws and 11 losses in 25 matches, and they were 3-2 winners at Pride Park when the sides met in October.

The Rams found themselves trailing in the first 15 minutes of the match as Omotayo Adaramola opened the scoring, while 10 minutes later Scott Banks doubled Palace’s advantage.

But, Derby came flying out of the blocks in the second half as two early goals brought the scores level.

First, Luke Plange converted from close range and soon after, Osazee Aghatise struck powerfully from 25 yards to equalize for the Rams.

However, after doing so well to come back into the game, Derby fell behind again as Jesurun Rak-Sakyi scored from 10 yards to secure all three points for the visitors.

Rams TV are unable to broadcast the game live due to a Premier League game taking place on Monday.
